Paper
I was once approached by a friend with a question asking, ” How do people put value onto a piece of paper?”
What he meant was how can people put monetary value on a piece of paper? intelligence? agreement? trust? and so forth. How much have we believed and trusted papers that played a major contribution to the shaping of the whole world now.

So the value of a paper is actually a wood being manufactured into a piece of paper which have been very helpful in everyday’s activity.
Let me repeat the question again.
1) How could a paper, once a piece of wood could hold such monatery value that many people are willing to die for? I once watched a movie called Marco Polo. In this one scene when Marco Polo travelled to china, he was appalled when he witnessed trading in market were done using paper money for the first time since barter trade were still used in Europe. So he asked this question to his chaperone, “How do you know whether this paper could be used in replacing gold or silver? I could just use my own paper and do business” and he was answered that the paper money has the emperor’s chop and different chops carry different value.
Now again, how chops are made? they are not silver nor gold nor bronze.
So it is one man’s authority to give value to a piece of paper… to measure one’s intelligence (which is not very fair), to secure trust in another person, to believe.. to agree… to grant wishes..
